Wine When We Dine~

She said she loves long walks in the park
She loves listening to music when it rains
She loves red wine when she dines and a bit of
White from time to time
Love it was at first site conversations at club “Top Flight”
I love long walks in the park, listening to my music when it rains
Wine when I dine and not really caring about which particular kind
She was so very kind finally accepting an invitation to be mine
She had insisted meeting at her place would be just fine
Her wonderful dinner over a few glasses of red wine,
And in my mind this would be just right for getting on one knee time
When around the corner I came to release my stress
from having drank one too many glasses of Merlot
surprised she said many a men sit c’est la vie
yes I said but I have never seen a female stand and pee
She said but we love long walks in the park and music when it rains
We have red wine when we dine and loving white from time to time
If it is that important to you I too will sit c’est la vie
While you can be the one that stands for your gender decree
But it was love at first site over conversation at club “Top Flight”
We love long walks in the park and music when it rains but the red wine
had soaked my head rendering me hopeless instead of being about
love it was quickly about the hand or the glove
And I am going to have to take an extra long walk in the park
as the music will not stop playing in my head
I can no longer feel the rain and the sun stands still upon the horizon
seen from your side sunrise from mine sunset
I wonder if I close my eyes I will awake to your sunrise
leaving my sunset to burning away all bad memories
of society’s contemporaries, hypocrisies, parental larcenies
leaving us our long walks, music when it rains and wine when we dine
