Who are we when separated from our many attachments, our things
Who are we when separated from our friends
When we are no longer a part of their social clubs or their social vices
What happens when we are no longer attached to our social devices
Who are we then~

What becomes of our self importance our need to “reach back for the phone”
Are we the same person if no longer called upon, stranded like tires long blown
Are we still that wonderful well known human being if no longer seen
Who are we really when alone without the many distractions pulling us away from home
Who are we then

Seems quite obscene to think our life would be as fickle dust in the wind
When only yesterday it seemed we were as lively as any other
How could it be so very suddenly not a single soul took to bother
Could it be without a father and having only recently lost a mother
Not even a solitary member of my many siblings ever once considered
Who are we then

For three long years I tarried on this planet
For three long years I waited for that chariot
For three long years I listened to the many voices
For three long years I tried in vain to express this crisis
And when finally arrived my entrance
I must confess to my indifference
Who I am was never who you led me to belief
And now I wonder how many more are presently being deceived

Who are you
