Drawing by Al Margen, 1976

This solitary frame says so much~
It speaks of our desperation equally at the same time it speaks of our hopelessness.
It speaks of the “Olive Branch” arriving only in its symbolic state yet having very little value in our reality.
It speaks of the freedom of those creatures we have long caged yet now finding ourselves the caged.
It speaks of our exposure when unclothed showing our anemic soul robbed of its nurture
And still its hardened facial relive denotes “a man having agreed with you yet having not a changed mind”
Its speaks not of tomorrow but more so the shortened hours of time remaining in today
It speaks no longer of my yesterday only of today’s quickly closing window in which to make that change
