Perhaps not. But our minds can only measure our satisfaction in realism, so easier it is to measure the concept of "one more....." minute, hour, day, week, month etc.

Easier it is to satiate the lust, the itch, the hunger, thirst...in a measurable manner that the brain can process. Sure, one could extent themself into the more RATIONAL brain and say, one more of anything will never be enough. But having never had another chance of love, lust, hunger ....quenched would be akin to imposing an emotional death sentence upon one's self.

That old saying, "better to have love and loss than not to have loved at all"
