Yet I’m unable to see my hands in front of my eyes
The world surrounds me with so many promises
Still I am unable to find peace inside of me
You can see as far as the day is clear
Yet for so long you’ve failed to see me standing right here
Grounded next to your blazing engines
Not a single vibration can I feel
like once upon a love at first start
Yet now in full flight
immeasurable distance apart
I can still feel the numbness of your heart
Say you love me
Saying you’ll always be the same
Saying our hearts will never change
Saying the very things over and over again
Saying it isn’t feeling it and feeling it
no longer feels like it use to
It no longer feels the same when you say my name
laying here all alone
Strong memories reminding me
of what was once a home
Now four walls surrounds me
decorated with the many scares inflicted
by someone once known
Try though we may to walk away
these needles in my feet keeps
me on my knees
Though it’s been done many times before
here on my knees just puts me closer
to the floor
A lifetime of struggles
The sad times, the good times, the times
spent just trying to find lost keys
but a man on his knees a lifetime
close to the floor
takes bitter sweet comfort when
finally arriving at the door
cause it’s too late to return to where
we were once before
