In her eyes I could see melancholy
I could see beyond her soul’s journey
I could see so much yet so little
none of which was simple
In these times when saying that
which we are not told
can so often be our undoing
in her eyes I saw all the gentleness
of understanding
And still there was something kept
most private
So much so as if the very key to
her melancholy
still laid quietly in her past
Oh I wish she could say,
home sweet home at last~
