Jennifer Marie Killgore I know not what you feel. I only know this one thing with certainty. A friend now long past shared with me her brother’s journey to recovery. Until that conversation many things to me were limited to my own equally limited experiences with an over abundance of ignorance. It was that conversation, she telling me how it had taken her brother 20 years to get his one year pin from AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and just how very proud she was of his accomplishment on the day he received it.

That conversation has stayed with me these many, many years reminding me at each and every sign of my “about to take that self righteous point of view” when in response to anyone having similar struggles.
