At The Twilight’s Passing

Juan Jose@jjalonso

At the twilight of the dawning when the shades have been drawn
and dawn’s bright sunlight now seems a distant light in memory
I will be here to hold your hand, hold your heart in place from falling
I will be that pedestal you lay upon
The mountain top you’ll view the heavens from
The valley’s stream you’ll drink life eternal
And when in time your Angel come calling to find you sleeping
worry not should you think you’ll be left behind be it for not awaking
I will be the gentle hand that stirs your spirit
I will be the warmth of life’s transition
keeping safe a place for you the last passenger
Open your hands and let free all decisions
for all that which lays in front now free of all danger

At the twilight of the dawning when the shades have been drawn
and dawn’s bright sunlight is nothing more than a faded memory
I will be here to hold all that was the memory of you
your heart, soul and the very essence of you
Your pedestal now lay upon the mountain that was you
I close my eyes
and rest peacefully in your valley graced by your spirit
Come the dawn I will live
I will live a life that you would
I will live not in fear of the twilight
but in celebration of each new sunlight.
